Mieko Kawakami!!!

She has recently become one of my favourite authors. Her writing is visceral. I can feel every description so vividly it's almost like hallucinating being in the worlds she builds. Her prose feels personal, like it's meant to be read intimately. The characters feel so human that they become part of your subconscious in the same way old friends do.
